A recent announcement about plans for teachers to supervise toothbrushing in schools is facing backlash.

Sir Keir Starmer of the Labour Party shared plans to help solve the NHS dentistry problem, which involved teachers in areas of high tooth decay supervising the morning toothbrushing for students aged three to five.

However, DailyMail.com reported that “critics suggested the measures were an improper use of time for teachers, many of whom are already considering leaving the profession due to burnout and high workloads.”

The chief of the National Association of Headteachers also spoke out against the new policy.
