National Dental Hygiene Month

For the sixth consecutive year, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and the Wrigley Oral Healthcare Program (WOHP) have partnered together for National Dental Hygiene Month (NDHM) to promote oral health awareness and celebrate the impact dental hygienists have in improving the public’s oral and overall health. Please click on this press release that outlines some of the many initiatives and events the ADHA and WOHP are supporting around NDHM. This year’s campaign is centered around dental hygienists starting the conversation with patients about “Doing the Daily 4” oral health regiment or brushing twice daily, flossing, using an antimicrobial mouthrinse and chewing sugar-free gum when brushing is not an option. You also will find a number of resources and content at the NDHM website.

Additional information for the media can also be found in the Resources tab at www.adha.org or on our Newswise channel. If you have further questions or need additional background materials on oral health, please contact ADHA Director of Communications John Iwanski at johni@adha.net. Thank you again for reviewing this information, and helping promote the need for improved access and overall oral and health care for the public.
