Calling all diabetics

Imagine if your dental practice could make the following claim: A visit to your hygienist can significantly reduce your blood sugars.

So says a new Indian study which found that one hour of scaling below the gum line not only significantly improved the health of gums for those with gum problems, but also reduced blood sugars 3 months later.

This study also found that non-diabetic adults with gum disease had blood sugar levels at pre-diabetic levels.

Interested in this study?  Your community surely is. Last week it played on the Partners in Prevention Facebook campaign. Within a few hours, it was shared by 33 viewers and liked by 77.

That is more interest than most dental practices with a Facebook page have on their entire timelines.

Just another indication that the community wants some relevant, compelling reasons to purchase more dental services, particularly as it ages (and becomes diabetic) and as it loses its dental insurance.
