Septodont Donates $5,000 to Red Cross for Fort McMurray Wildfire Evacuees

Septodont, the world’s largest manufacturer of dental anesthetics, has donated $5,000 to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts for the Fort McMurray wildfire evacuees.

The wildfire began southwest of Fort McMurray (in the heart of Canada’s oil country) on May 1, 2016. Due to the unusual weather patterns caused by El Niño this year, the fire quickly spread over a wide area. On May 3, a mandatory evacuation was put into place forcing over 80,000 people from their homes. As of May 24, the Fort McMurray wildfire was still burning out of control and has covered over 522,800 hectares (2018 square miles).

A voluntary re-entry of residents to the area is scheduled to begin on June 1.
