Dentists in Manitoba can now offer services such as neuromodulators and dermal fillers, like Botox. While these procedures are typically known to get rid of wrinkles, the Manitoba Dental Association (MDA) is sharing the message that “there are non-cosmetic uses for the product as well,” according to Global News.
These services can be helpful for treating TMJ, myofascial disfunctions and even migraines, which dentists have seen increased cases of since the pandemic due to stress.
MDA members must complete a two-step certification process to provide the service and they expect there to be an increasing demand over the next few months.
