Monkeypox Update and Resources

As Monkeypox cases have begun to rise in Ontario and across the world, the WHO recently declared Monkeypox a public health emergency of concern.

The Monkeypox virus is designated a Disease of Public Health Significance under the Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA). This means that regulated health professionals, including dentists, are required to report suspected cases of the Monkeypox virus directly to the local Medical Officer of Health in accordance with the reporting requirements in the HPPA.
