A Saskatoon dentist hired a marketing company that pressured two patients to take down their negative online reviews of the practice.

CTV News reported that “the women were even threatened with legal action.”

The owner of the practice confirmed he hired the man known as Kal to manage the online reputation of his practice. It was reported by one of the patients that Kal accessed her medical files from the practice in order to see the “merit” of her review before making the threats.

Commissioner Ronald Kruzeniski found that Kal had no legal reason to access the information and considers it a breach of privacy.
